I don't mean to brag... But...I must say that for once, I actually feel pretty darn confident about my pairs and dance predictions here.

When making my predictions for the Ladies I was pulled in so many directions I am surprised that I am still in one piece!

And considering that I haven’t paid any attention to the Korean Championships in previous years, I was surprised with just how many familiar names there were. Like, there were about a dozen skaters that I remembered seeing before!

So, this was a lot harder than I was expecting.

That said, I knew who were going to make up my Top 5. And, guess what, they were also the Top 5 when ordered by absolute PB. But, I didn’t use the absolute PB’s for my scoring positions. I only looked the entire field up so as to see if any of the names I didn’t recognise were in amongst the skaters I was putting near the top (there weren’t).

The order I put my podium finishers in was actually the reverse of the absolute PB order. I like So Youn, and with so many talented young girls coming through, this could be her only chance to compete at the Olympics.

It’s not that I have anything against Squirtle. I like her, and think she is going to be a big star. I would just prefer if So-Youn and Da-Bin had the satisfaction of knowing that they were going to the Olympics purely on their own efforts, not because somebody else was too young to go.

The decision was whether to put Ye-Lim next, or Na-Hyun. Because she is older and has been around longer, I am more familiar with Na-Hyun. When I compared their scores on Rink Results, Ye-Lim’s best was higher, but only by a point and a half. So, I went with the skater I knew better.

But, these two were not alone. The best scores Rink Results had for You Young and Ha-Nul were also very close to them. To be honest, although I know the names, I don’t think I’ve seen either of them. However, given that You Young was second in the SP at Senior Nationals last year, despite being only 12 years old, I think I’ll go for her.

After this group, there was a big gap to the rest of the field. The next one on the list was actually An So-Hyun. But, behind her was Kim Hae-Jin. And, I have to be honest, I was actually expecting her to be much higher in the list. To the extent that I was intending to have her as my alternate. And because I wanted Hae-Jin to be higher, I decided to move her up. But, because of this big gap, I only moved her up one place.

After this, I just kept the order based on scores.

With the Men, there were not only less entries, but less names that I was familiar with.

Unsurprisingly, the names I were familiar with were the ones at the very top of the list when I ordered them by the scores that Rink Results have for them.

And that in itself was a problem, as there are bigger gaps in between them than I was expecting. I was going to go for Jin-Seo for the win, but Jun-Hwan has been consistently scoring a lot higher than him. So, with this in mind, I put Jun-Hwan on top.

The next two were Lee June-Hyoung and Lee Si-Hyeong. And I kept them in that order, for the same reason.

But, I deviated when it came to my alternate. An Geon-Hyoung was fifth on the list, but I opted for the guy behind him, Byun Se-Jong. The best score listed for Geon-Hyoung was just over a point higher, but on the whole Se-Jong has been scoring higher. Plus, since Se-Jong is older, he has more competitions under his belt, particularly when it comes to Senior level. Which is probably why I am familiar with him, but not Geon-Hyoung.

The remaining guys were all competing on the Junior GP this season. But, since I didn’t see much of the Series this year, I am not familiar with any of them. So, I just kept them in the order of the highest scores listed.
