Rotational Lift - basic

Look there's nothing that is going to shake the earth here (it's all pretty basic), but they have great attack and expression. Really nice. Keep an eye on them. I enjoyed that.

Weaver/Poje has a presence on the ice, a certain fluid, smooth aura if you will, but I didn't feel it that much here. They were good, sure, but for me I didn't feel that spark.

I liked most of this program by Weaver and Poje. I really like her dress too.

Required Elements:

TR Pattern - huge ice coverage; may be the best TR pattern I've seen this season.
SL lift - that dress is a bit tricky but the lift is lovely
Twizzles - Big Big Big
St Seq - Nice tempo change (and needed). Igor does tango proud.


And they're sitting out the GP. That's just criminal. It's such a lovely mature dance. I thought, Let the Pros Do It.

Required Elements:

Stationary Lift - L&R do the best stationary lifts in the biz
St Seq - what I like about them is they don't rush. They take their time through the sequence. That bodes well for their future.
Twizzles - Holding their blades for a final curve out of the first set was just SO striking
TR Pattern - Need more speed. If they had more speed that pattern would have far more ice coverage

Early days for these two, but I enjoyed that.

I trolled Interspector by telling them that Hanyu was skating to it this year. Good times, good times. Unfortunately everyone else believed me and the hand wringing was palatable.

Weaver and Poje were wonderful! Their skating is beautiful, and they told a story from the moment they began - before, even. Her dress is gorgeous in person.

Smart and Diaz were also really interesting.

I also enjoyed the Bulgarian couple - the guy especially is a wonderful skater with elegance and lovely carriage. I don’t know a lot about dance so will be interested to see the protocols to understand why their score was so low.
