Do they really need to announce the Worlds team this early? It's so far away...seems risky to me

They can announce it and then change afterwards if anyone decides to pull out.

In the US, they announce World team plus like 2 or 3 alternates, so not that risky.

There is really nothing else happening between now and Olympics to change the choices (except for injuries) (as far as the Japanese are concerned, European countries still have European Championships to considered.)

Kaori is definitely not my favorite Japanese girl. I hate her Amelie program. (her short is lovely) But, she did well at this competition and Japan (almost always) sends those who win their nationals. This is the result that I expected. Good for her
