I am really not a fan of the changes they made in the ice dance. Choreo Rhythm Seq? It's basically Char Seq and it feels too much out of place. Please leave the theatrics for the free dance.

ISU really did a number on this segment. For me it should be what it used to be, a dance in its purest, most technical form.
I miss pattern dances for Senior ice dancers.

After watching so many high-energy performances by people wearing colorful and sensuous costumes, I feel somewhat sad to be fixing a slow cooker lasagne to eat during the men's short program while wearing my coziest slanket. But I did love the top two teams' dances!

Wolfkostin missed the opportunity to create a viral meme by not screaming "Rotational Lift BASE" in the kiss and cry. Madison Hubbell would never!

Just realised that FB/S are using the music G/F used in 2018, I bet that's confusing Charlene and Marco backstage!

Just had to put this in, in reference to your user name.

HOW? I can't even watch skating and post. I do, but neither gets done well. Or do you mean you do those other things during ice resurfacing?

I'm doing it all during the instant replays while skaters are in the knc area. LOL

I really like Guignard/Fabbri's RD, the lift especially is awesome, as is the pattern step. However, they need to get that tech up (and get the twizzles to L4) ready for next week, if they go clean they should be ahead of F/G on their skating skills alone but the latter will be on home ice...

Wow. Thought they would be second.
Well I thought the Italians had the competition not based on their actual skating but past results in the bag. It was and is theirs to lose. Kind of like Skate America - Chock and Bates could fall and win. Past results suggest the Italians had this and the Canadians or Danadians might struggle to make the Canadian team of two. ON actual skating FB/S deserved first but I just can't see the judges giving it to them over the Italians when they might not even be Canada's second team. You know LaLa is the future. I don't think the Italians can be too smug about winning this SD; it was hardly convincing in my opinion.

Skater Boy - I don't think it was so much past results here, but more who the TEC panel was. With the Tec Specialists being from the USA and ITA the CAN team were not going to be 1st no matter what.

I’ve never been G/F biggest fans. Apparently they are great technically but they do nothing for me as a team, particularly her. I just don’t find she has natural rhythm or dance ability.

I also found that there were some frantic parts in the choreo. And I sometimes struggle with her line and polish from feet to fingertips.

I don’t think the new rules in Ice Dance RD favours this team nor this program.

I know it’s different competitions and home inflation but a 5 point difference between G/P and them not to mention FB/ S being close in marks can’t be encouraging.

Do not know what is up with W&C in their SPs this year. The program needs some tweaking. There is no reason for them to be doing this.

Odd: highest base value was Pate & Bye
well it was actually the Georgians by 0.01... but still odd..
but at the same time, it is reflecting the importance of both step sequences and especially the pattern dance steps... you can mess up twizzles a bit (pate and bye did) but if you have high levels on both StepSeq, you will score high...

Italians and Canadians are almost even... Italians lost levels on twizzles while Canadians didn't get a high level on the Pattern Dance... and it evened things out.... though honestly, when looking at both teams, to me, there was one very exciting performance, and one rather dull one that looked less flowing than usually.
